"Liked the look of these rails, but had a bad time trying to install them correctly. The hardware that came with these was cheap and practically useless. Had to spend a couple of hours modifying the hardware just to get them to work at all. Then the rails just would not tighten up where they would not move around with just a little tug. Would never trust tieing anything down to them because they just won't bolt down solid. They just need a much better design for the hardware. They look good but do not secure properly."
Pros: Nice finish, look good.
Cons: Hardware is practically useless.

Bed rail - not for the 2006 Tundra!

"Shipping was average fast. Open box and not so happy with construction. The rail and the rail ends have just a couple of rivets, so not a solid connection.
In any case, lets install, it is made of stainless steel, so it must be good.
It comes with plates to insert into the pockets. Those plates seem that will mar and bend the pockets upwards. I feel the company which made it knew what they were doing, so I continue with installation (knowing it was not right…)..
I had to put some support between the pockets and the bed cap, as to avoid crushing the bed cap against the bed pockets (I knew it was not a good fit… but continued…)
The length of the rails is not precise; it is a bit off (but I continue installation)…
I put bolts in place and start tightening… The rails can not get a good grip and stain in place.. I tight more.. and more…. Never a good fit.
Rails still move… I imagine that the pocket walls are all crushed due to the plates inside forcing upwards…
I force the rail, as I was if I was working with the truck. One bolt breaks and rails falls.
I am not happy and remove the rails…
One more bolt gets solid stuck on the plate and breaks… the others are removed.
Yes, the pockets are all damaged and forced upwards, all bent and ugly. I remove everything and starting fixing the pockets with hammer and a piece of wood.
I am able to get 90% back to normal. The pockets are a bit damaged, but okay.
Definitively, the rail DOES NOT fit and will mar more the truck if I continue. Better to return the item… I was very unfortunate to have bought this item and stupid to continue installation when I could see it would not fit properly.
For Tundra 2006. Look for another item!
I called JCW, return authorization was given. Very nice people and excellent customer service.
It is a shame the item is really useless, damage the truck and it is even dangerous, it is is in risk of falling off while you work with the truck. Big Disappointment with item... Great satisfaction with JCW as usual excellent customer service.
