" This product was easy to install and was a direct replacement on my Jeep Liberty
The similar tailgate lift support was also easy to install, but needed to be reversed from the original in order to fit.

" The struts fit my son's 2001 Toyota Avalon but they do not have the power to support the hood! This is the listed part so says JCW. JCW made a mistake and sent me the wrong strut or they have put it in the wrong category either way its money wasted! I doubt that Monroe ran tens of thousands of these down a production line just for them to be the inadequate. I had to dig into my shop manual and get the part number off of the original hood strut and then order them from another site where they were more expensive but they are direct replacement's and they work. That's what I get for chasing a deal! "

" On my original equipment struts (2000 Camry) the ball joints are integral with the supports and to remove the ball joints looks like it would require cutting into the ball joint housing which I don't want to do. I saw another site where the strut comes with the brackets already installed on the strut. Actually it looked like the bottom ball joint was changed to a bolt as a ball joint isn't really needed for the lower part of the strut. The lower part of the strut only rotates in one plane but the upper part of the strut rotates in more than one plane. Maybe not all 2000 Camry's use the same strut?? "
