Great Lift Kit
November 16, 2011
By 1980Blazer
from Alamogordo, NM
Pros: Easy to install on my Full Size Blazer.
Cons: No shock dust boots.
"I installed the 4 inch lift kit on my 1980 full size Blazer in my driveway by myself useing basic hand tools, a floor jack, and 2 jack stands. It took about 7 hours as most of the old bolts did not want to come off. And more than a few beverage breaks. If you have a cutting torch it will go faster. The kit comes with new U bolts.
I did find that my frame was cracked by the steering box. So I just ordered the Frame support Kit from JCW. A little welding and I will be back on the trails.

ok for the money

"i put this kit on an 87 blazer, overall it turned out good, you will have some left over parts and the kit didnt come with enough shock dampeners, and there is no parts list, but having done this before i figured it out, also the brake line extensions had to be modified. it would be nice to have gotten some new hardware but you have to use your own. there is no shock boots either. but for the price it was worth it."

"The kit definetly is easy to use and looks great on my 79 chevy pickup. One thing i was disapointed in was the instructions they were very vague and if this had been my first time installing one i would have been lost. A parts list would be nice too so i know what i am looking at and like i said not have to guess. Just a heads up to buyers that you will need to buy or use your old front leaf bolts because they dont supply them with the kit, and you will probily need a sway bar extension as well as brake line extensions. which need to be purchased seperatley. overall i really liked the kit and everything fit together perfectly i would recommend this kit to anyone who wants a kit thats not to difficult to install."
