4-WAY ADJUSTABLE SHOCK ABSORBERS
  • Restore the handling ease and performance lost due to work shocks and springs
  • Enjoy a smoother, more stable ride
  • Dual chrome-plated springs look as good as they perform!
High-gloss black painted showroom shine and black plastic top spring cover. Black plastic shield protects painted shock body against scratches.
  1. Shocks and springs are custom matched to your cycle. No mistakes when matching up shocks with springs.
  2. 4-way preload adjustment lets you easily adjust shocks from soft to firm. Simply adjust cam with shock wrench (Included)...;no need to demount shock, no dismantling and no changing of springs.
  3. Springs are made of strong heat-treated spring steel to relieve internal stress and resist fatigue.
  4. Self-adjusting nylon-band piston seals form a positive seal to reduce bind and compensate for temperature variations. Also help lock out dirt.
  5. Multistage velocity-response valving controls fluid flow during compression and extension.
  6. Multistage replenishing valving for instant response to rebound with better dampening control.
  7. Hydraulic rebound stop (cushion of oil) helps prevent topping out on extension stroke to ensure smooth energy absorption.
  8. Low-viscosity index oil damping fluid is compounded to reduce wear, control aeration and resist fading even under the worst conditions. Shocks have 1-1/2in. diameter body, smooth inner cylinder walls for less friction and increased shock life and polished metal top spring clip. Each shock has an upper and lower spring, each with a different rating. Dual springs (instead of one) ensure a more effective response, better shock absorption, longer spring life and a more comfortable ride. Springs can be adjusted from 160 to 190 lbs. Sold in pairs only.

Limited (12-month) Warranty: An exchange of shock absorbers and springs will be made (not including installation costs) if shock absorbers and springs wear out with 12 months while the original purchaser owns the motorcycle on which the shocks/springs were originally installed.

MHOLL
"I have a 1983 Honda Shadow 750... these fit perfectly. I was a little concerned they would be too stiff. However, I like to corner hard and fast and don't care for a "squishy" back end. I currently have these on the 2nd to highest stiffness setting and the bike rides great."

"The fitment guide says that they should fit even though the length is specified as 1" too long. The length rating was correct and they didn't fit. (Everything else fit just fine). I had to pay return shipping so it was a $15 experiment."
Pros: look nice
Cons: do not fit

"I have put these on both my 79 Goldwing and my 87 Vulcan SE. I rode the Vulcan for about two years with the shocks and I had no problems. I then sold the bike. Now I have a 79 Goldwing and when I put them on the difference was amazing. Unless you are going to change all related rear suspension parts for a complete restore, these are a great alternative to $400.00 plus shocks. If you're looking for a $400.00 improvemnet in ride, these are not for you, but if your tired old Asian shocks need replacing, go for it. You'll notice a huge difference. Howver, order new stcok rubber bushings or plan to reuse your old ones. The one's that come in the kit are pretty cheap and they were a struggle with both the Vulcan and the Wing.
Overall, I have bought them twice, and I would buy them again.
"
Pros: Price Fitment
Cons: Rubber bushings

Fit my Voyager XII just fine

"I have owned my Voyager since new in 1986. 231,000 miles. I replace the original air shocks at 60,000 with Progressive Suspension standard shocks as the air shock were too pricey plus I never have really seen an advantage of air shocks over standard spring adjustable shocks except the air is easier to adjust. I replaced those with another pair of progressive about 160,000 miles when they began to leak. When It became time to replace those at 230,000 the price had gone up so much that I decided to look for a less expensive alternative.
These shocks fit just fine. The two stage spring does cause the bike to sit lower. I can raise it by setting the pre-load higher. I will see how they work with a fully loaded machine. I may decide to put my original springs on these shocks, but time will tell. They could be a little wimpy for a fully loaded machine. The shock unit itself is slightly smaller diameter than the Progressive units, however the dampening action seems good.
We will see how long they last, but if you are looking for a mechanical alternative to $400 air shocks, these may work out for you."
Pros: Price
Cons: Springs perhaps a little weak for a full dress bike.
