" Not degrading the product quality at all. That is very good. The issue was it was advertised as a replacement for my grandson's 1995 Geo Prism. It would not fit as is. I had to make a special bracket to anchor the rewind mechanism, because it was not possible to mount as is. I also had to remove the end clasp and replace it with the old clasp to fit the old snap-in mechanism, or the seat belt light on the dash would not work. The new clasp simply would not fit into the old snap-in, where the dashboard light switch is. "

" Decent quality replacement seat belts that actually work and don't lock up like the ones I bought off the E-online auction site. Wish I had not wasted my money and just bought these the first time. They do get a bit tight when pulling them out to buckle up from time to time (not a completely fast and smooth pull each time), but they work and do the job. Sometimes a bit slow to retract, and may need a little help, but again, not enough to complain about unless you are impatient. If I were impatient, I wouldn't own a bunch of slow classic vw's, so this is ok by me. Overall, they are ok. Nothing to rave about, not enough to complain about. "

" This is a UNIVERSAL fit and NOT an EXACT fit seatbelt. I purchased this for my dad's 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis when the driver side belt locked up. First of all, the side of the buckle where you press the button to release the belt was a couple of inches shorter than the original belt. There is a plastic sleeve the belt sits inside. The original sleeve twists 90 degrees after coming through the power driver's seat. Since the replacement belt was 2 inches shorter the original sleeve could not be used or modified. This replacement sleeve had to be cut shorter to modify it so the new shorter belt had enough room to twist 90 degrees after coming up through the seat. Since it is two inches shorter, the press release button is down almost butt up to the seat cushion making it harder to use. Secondly, the seat belt came with one replacement bolt for the attachment at the door over the shoulder. I needed to reuse the three other bolts needed: two for the floor and one for the lower side of body between the front and rear doors where the seat belt retractor/rewinder is attached behind the plastic panel cover. Since this replacement belt has smaller holes for the bolts to go through, I chose to modify the two floor bolts. There is a smooth barrel on the end of each bolt after the threaded section where the seat belt is supposed to slide over and be attached to freely rotate around the barrel. You can choose to drill the holes bigger, grind down the smooth area of each bolt's barrel, replace the bolts with different ones, or do nothing. If you choose to do nothing, the the bolt will just stick out a bit more and the plastic cover designed to hide them won't fit anymore; the threaded section of the bolts will still fit through the hole but the seat belt will stop once it reaches the smooth section of the bolts rather than sliding over them to the end of each bolt. " It didn't fit under the molding in my car, the buckle was a different size than the original, and it had practically no installation instructions. The good part was that when I had the mechanic put back the original belt, it had unlocked itself and now it works perfectly again. "
