How often do you shop at JC Whitney.com? Multiple Times a Year
"I live in AR and don't have bad weather too often. Theses pipes have been on my truck for a while now. HOWEVER, I have been fighting rust on them like mad for months now. If I don't keep the chrome polish on them they rust. I have had a difficult time maintaining them. This is a show truck so it is important. They look good polished up but after a few weeks light rust appears on the surface and there are a few spots where I didn't get to it in time the the rust has eaten through the chrome."
Pros: Sounds great, looks great, get tons of comments and offers to buy the truck
Cons: The chrome is not very durable

"i put these on my 1985 chevy short wide and i was amazed i couldnt believe the sound i got out of em i has a nice rumble it so isnt a cop magnet either ive parked next to cops lol its a wonderful product and i highly reccomend it to any one lookin for a nice quality product that lasts"
Pros: quiet but can get loud

How often do you shop at JC Whitney.com? Multiple Times a Year
"I put these on my '89 Ford, F-150, 4X4, Short Box which needed an exhaust system in order to pass the Safety Check here. Side Pipes are legal and these seemed to be a decent price, even when including the GST, Duty and Exchange Rate.
I had put an identical set (only the longer ones) on an older Chevy Van that I had and I loved 'em. (Also from JC Whitney and they lasted well over 6 years - couldnt find replacement glass-packs though - what a shame).
I expected these to be louder but was pleasantly surprised (quieter than Thrush or Cherry Bomb glass-packs) because these are so short (50" set). They sound sweet and aren't "cop magnets", just a nice throaty rummble.
Didn't like the "lag bolts" that are supplied for the hangers, so used stainless bolts as they dont rust and can be bought in any length needed. Had to build my own hook-up from the block hugger headers, through Cat Conv's (one for each pipe - what a waist of money that rule is) through to the side pipes. Used 2 1/2" mandrel bent tubing and did lots of measuring and fitting to make it right before welding it all together. Now I have a solid, legal, great looking and sounding exhaust system. Well worth the time money and effort and MUCH cheaper than a regular, wimpy, stock system.
The chrome isn't "show chrome", so do as they say and use a quality polish before even handling them and again after they are on (before putting "fire in the hole") and they will last real well. (Had great luck with Eagle One polish.) After that, clean & polish 'em like ya love 'em and they will last until the glass-packs burn out and if your engine is in decent shape, that will be a few years."
