"Had to loosen bumper bolts so that the hitch bolts could be fed into the frame, but that was preferable to reaming out the frame bolt holes. I'm not a mechanic by trade but have worked on cars for over 40 years and have the tools BUT there'S NO WAY this install can be done in under an hour from start to finish - that includes putting tools and jack/s away without having a lift in your garage. Overall though it was an easy install and can be done by 1 person if you put some gum or a little wire on the hitch bolts so they don't pop back up into the frame."
Pros: fit perfectly. quick delivery. VG instructions
Cons: takes longer than 30-40 mins.

"Installed this model on a 2009 Chevy HHR. The instructions were well written (downloaded a PDF file to study before ordering). The "fish wire" furnished with the kit worked like a charm! Installation would be a lot harder without it. I did have to disconnect all 4 tailpipe hangers to make room for the mounting plate and be able to torque the 4 mounting screws / nuts to spec. The best part to this hitch is it's made in Michigan!"

"The hitch tucks neatly in place under the bumper, barely visible from behind. Exactly the right size. Installation did require that I drill a one inch hole on each side of the chassis tube, to fish the bolts through. A bimetal hole saw did the trick. I had a small challenge when trying to drill through a harder, cold-worked section of steel next to where the bumper attaches: this immediately wore out the hole saw. Don't do that! Do follow the clear instructions, in the order presented; or else have your local shop install it for you."

"Overall, a very nice, compact little hitch. I installed this on my 1990 Geo Prizm, base model, to tow a small 4' x 6' cargo trailer, and it works great! No drilling was required on mine, as it aligned nicely with the factory, pre-installed weld nuts in my bumper. During installation, I had to remove the long trim piece on the underside of my bumper, holding the thick protective rubber covering to the bumper. Where the hitch attached to the bottom of the bumper, I had to cut out two small (approx. 1-1/2" x 2-1/2") pieces of the protective rubber, so the lower mounts could fit flush against the bumper. Then I had to cut my one piece trim into three pieces, as the lower mounts took its place. This trim piece then had two longer outside pieces and one short piece (between the lower mounts), but was not a problem with the existing mounting holes in it. I ground the sharp edges smooth and all three pieces fit right back on. Not too difficult, by any means, but did take a little time. The mounted hitch receiver looks clean and mostly hidden. I bought the receiver hitch without the ball mount, as I knew I was going to need a drop down / riser mount for the 2" ball I used. Overall I'm very happy with it, as it functions flawlessly."

Cons: Took some minor fabricating adjustments to the underside trim on my bumper
