Pros: The wire/coil bolt fishing wire idea worked great
Cons: don't let go of the wire when you are pulling a bolt/spacer into place
"First, when your hitch arrives and you open the box and you don’t see any package of nuts, bolts, wire and instructions don’t assume that they left it out. They wrap it up in a small wad of tape and plastic and tape it to the receiver end of the hitch. This will save an embarrassing call to the return department at JC Whitney. That being said, the return department is very polite and helpful.
Second, this hitch is extremely well made and looks good. It fit my 2012 Escape perfectly and I did not have to cut a notch in my plastic bumper which I think spoils the appearance of the car.
The instructions initially appear a bit vague but if one spends a few minutes looking at all the pictures and reading the notes and comparing the images with the underside of the car the installation becomes straight forward.
The installation is really quite easy. The little wires with the coils on the ends which are used to pull the bolts and spacers into place actually work very well. The only problem I encountered was I let go of the pulling end of the wire once. The weight of the bolt on the other end pulled the wire out from wince it came leaving the spacer stranded inside the frame. I was able to push the spacer back out of the frame with a 12inch piece of 3/16 inch copper tubing which I bent and then pushed through the holes until I pushed the spacer out. I would recommend that you prop the hitch in place by partially sticking bolts in the holes from the outside. Then start with the forward most mounting bolt. Push the coil/wire coil first from the front most hole and grasp it at the back with your finger tips. This works much better than trying to fish the small end of the wire forward and trying to get it to come out one of the bolt holes.

FJ Cruiser fit problems,

"The product almost fits the FJ, but I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to spread the back side of the hitch to get the last bolt hole to line up, the one I have to fish through the frame to fit, and may have to drill the frame anyway to make the last hole fit, it is off by about 1/2" and In the end the hitch frame is very close to the exhaust tip and I fully expect that it will rub as the exhaust bounces around. I have over two hours into this project so far and the product installation for this vehicle has been very difficult.

"They say 35 minutes. More like 2 hours to get the 4 bolts out for a 11 year old Jeep and You will need a GOOD set of socks, a wire brush for nuts, and a good socket extension. The nut wire brush is for the most rear frame nut that you will need clean up to get the bolts to fit. Everything else its a work out but well worth the experence. Total time minus the breaks 4 hours. I would do it agian if need too. Hitch looks fantastic 5 plus stars..."
