RETRACTABLE SLIDER STEP FOR JEEP®

Bolts directly to frame (97-10 Wranglers)...retracts for off-roading
It's a nerf bar when retracted, a convenient step up when pulled out!
Spring loaded mechanism allows for smooth step retraction/operation
Mounts directly to frame using factory mounting points
Flat stepping surface remains flat even when stowed
Heavy-duty rocker guard piece helps protect against dents and dings

In three easy steps you can get a helping hand into your JK! Simply slide the step forward, pull out and then down. Step also retracts out of the way so rocks and rugged terrain are of no concern when you go off-roading. Made of 2-1/2" diameter steel tubing with 1/8" wall thickness and a special layer of E coat for superior resistance to rust and corrosion.

NOTE: Wrangler Rubicon models require factory rocker panel guards be removed to install Slider Step.

quality parts, lousy mounting,

Pros: heavy duty parts, well powder coated, easy install except for frame rivets

Cons: frame rivet installation is not well covered in instruction sheet, difficult at best to install

"The installer nut for the frame rivets COULD (suggestion) have a knurl or other device to keep the rivets from spinning in the frame while installing and then destroying the knurls that are on the exterior of the rivets. Be VERY CAREFUL that the rivet does NOT TURN when tightening the installer bolt to 30 ft lbs of torque. The rivets are too soft and distort and abrade way too easily. some method should be incorporated into the installer tool assembly to keep the rivet from turning in the frame while installing. The steps themselves get a five star rating from me, but the very questionable installation instructions and method get a one star, so overall a 3 is given."

installing step not so easy,

Pros: strong and just the right step hight for my 1992 jeep

Cons: did not fit as well as expected

"Installation was difficult. Step front bottom bracket did not allow enough room to bolt side plate front hole to body without hitting floor pan. Bracket was pushed against frame to body mounting post tight. MFR should have slotted bracket one more inch and it would have worked fine on my 1992 jeep wangler. The 8mm washers furnished were not larger enough and I had to get the next size larger, so they would not slip through the slotted holes in the bracket. The only other thing is it would been nice if they had furnished an extra threaded insert with the package in case you screw one up. Which I did. After it was installed I was very happy with the appearance and it functions perfectly."
