"The instructions are easy to follow and the outcome is nice - feels srong and substantial. The drilling that is necessary needs to be done with a cobalt bit and the use of some type of machine oil to keep the drill bits cool. There should be minimal pressure applied to the drill and a slow drill rotational speed. These steps will avoid dulling even expensive hardened drill bits. Yes, drilling slower will get the job done faster."
Pros: Strong and well suited for the Jeep Liberty
Cons: Must know how to drill into steel hardened by spot welding

The finished product!
"I bought these steps to install on my 1993 Ford F350. The running boards that had been on it for years and years were looking pretty rough and I was never all that fond of them, anyway. The product itself is very good. The step is a single casting with different mounts each vehicle application. Nothing to break. The directions were clear, however, and this is the reason I didn't give the product five stars, the drilling instructions for my particular vehicle were incorrect. I ended up drilling two holes in the truck that weren't necessary and it took me a little while to figure out how the holes should be drilled. Other than that, I'm very satisfied."
Pros: seem sturdy, easily installed
Cons: drilling instructions were incorrect

"Had difficulty drilling panel for sheet metal screws; for my Nissan I had to drill at a sharp angle breaking two drill bits and made holes too large requiring larger screws. worked out well but was a difficult installation. My wife is 4 feet 10 inches tall and she loves the step. She was threatening to get a stool to get in the truck; but the hoop ll step solved the problem."
Pros: Excellent Buy
Cons: Installation
