CHOICE OF FASTENERS
Rivet Nuts. Most cost-effective way to place permanent threads in thin materials! Perfect for metal, fiberglass and rigid plastic which are too thin to support a threaded screw or bolt with the rivet nut. No drilling out rivets to remove fasteners! Drill a hole in panel or wall, thread rivet nut on mandrel of installation tool and insert into hole. Squeezing handle expands the rear of the rivet nut and locks it in place?ready for insertion of machine screw. Large diameter head allows use in soft materials with little thread strength and to provide the most bearing surface. Threading resists high loads, prevents loosening under vibration. Look neat.
Thread-Serts. Best for use with thin or thick materials! Ideal for use in any material at least 3/32" thick. Eliminate need for tapping and welding. Thread-Serts feature an upper sleeve and a base, both with internal and external threads. During installation, base is drawn upwards inside the sleeve, forcing 360? contact between sleeve and application material. Easy?all you need is installation tool and drilled or punched hole.
