"Needed because I got a receiver extender so I could put my tailgate down when hooked up to the travel trailer. Needed to crank down on the U bolts to get it to keep the rear end from sagging after the extension was put on. May need to get some plastic wire shield to protect the brake lines that are nearby within 1/8" of the end.
Had to use a C clamp to compress the spring to put the nuts on the outer ends. After 1st installing, I had to come back and torque down on the nuts to put more pressure on it so it wouldn't sag with the trailer hitched. I still have more than 2" I can crank down if I want it stiffer."

"Installed on a 2012 F-150. Tow a RV with weight distribution hitch. No matter what I did I couldn't eliminate a 2" drop in the rear. Bought these in hopes they would help. Gave me a little more leaf spring support, but didn't eliminate the 2" rear sag problem."

"The Hellwig helper springs will help providing the load I need for my pickup truck in towing my large boat with trailer. It fitted great on my rear leaf springs. Though, it has stiffened my suspension, the additional springs give my pickup a rugged feel and better handling of rough road conditions."
Pros: provide load
Cons: stiff rear suspension

"My Nissan pickup with a camper shell needed a little more rear spring to level it. I tried the overload springs over shocks, but there was too much bounce for me. The leaf helper springs solved the problem, plus they are very easy to install. Now I can tow my little camping trailer!"
