Ease of Use/Installation:
"JC Whitney gets 5 stars. Great price & super fast delivery. But their fitment charts need updating. As for the product; First the plastic shrink wrap was stuck like glue to the chrome mounting cups. I tried peeling, WD 40, Goo adhesive remover, & finally a heat gun with only minimal success. Resorted to scraping with a credit card. The credit card left scratches on the chrome, What? Next, the threaded studs on the spider didn't stick thru far enough to start the top spool, nut, & washer as the instructions tell you to do. I started the bottom one a little then started the top one without the washer, tigntened them down evenly then removed the top one & installed the washer, then torqued them to specs. As instructed I installed & removed the 'shield 5 times then re torqued, well the mount is loose after every 4 or 5 times it is removed. I think it will eventually stay tight but when? It takes a millisecond to remove or STEAL it. There needs to be a lock of some type. The other two brands of quick detatchable mounts include a lock or at least a latch. I picked this brand because their windshield is supposed to be the best. Although this review is neg. the mount is ok & I am happy considering what I paid for it & the ability to use different size windshields. The only reason I don't recommend it is because of not having a lock and so far it won't stay tight."
