Pros: No more rust!!!
Cons: None so far
"This tank fit directly into my 77 F150 4X4 with the original straps. I haven't taken the truck to the gas station to tell the actual capacity, but the thicker walls of this tank may have cut the capacity a little, but not much."

Pros: plastic,won't rust
Cons: sending unit is held in place by some cheesy metal tabs that looks like they were cut with a hacksaw.
"filler neck was 2" and my hose was 1 3/8 i had a 19 gal rear tank and when i pulled the new one out of the box a blind man can see it was smaller.and the new one is quit a bit thiner cause i had to make some mods.to get it to tiedown securely."

Replacement Works With Modifications,

Pros: The tank holds gas, can't rust, and is one of your few options...
Cons: 3-5 Gallons less than advertised
"The tank I ordered was a replacement for a 1973-1978 Jeep Pickup. It was to be an exact fit for these years. While the tank was made in the spirit of the original, in shape and near-size, it was far from a direct replacement. I had to fabricate a new tank strap, as the original was considerably too large. The MTS replacement strap sold here is a set of 2--anyone who has looked at these Jeeps knows it's a 1 strap setup. I purchased it with a replacement sending unit, and it came loosely mounted in the tank. The sending unit received some minor damage in shipping due to this poor packaging with the tank. This tank *can* work, but expect to perform some fabrication/modification/engineering to get it securely mounted and ready for use. While I had issues with mounting and such, the way some vent and evaporation lines come from the tank were also changed. However, this only required some small changes to my hose setup. You might consider saving your old metal tank and find someone that can refurbish it, too. I'd recommend this more than I'd recommend no gas tank at all!"
