  • Header lets 4, 6 and 8-cylinder cars, trucks, vans and SUVs "breathe" better and operate more efficiently
  • Get more horsepower, better gas mileage and a smoother running engine
  • Custom fit for easy installation
Gives more power per dollar than any other single modification. A "must" for 4, 6 and 8-cylinder engines, as these engines are equipped with a restrictive exhaust manifold that limits engine operating efficiency and results in sluggish performance. Header lets engine "breathe" better and operate more efficiently. Improves acceleration, ensures better gas mileage and a cooler running engine. You can gain more horsepower over stock equipment with a well-tuned or slightly modified engine. MIG welded of heavy steel with flanges made to exact thickness of stock exhaust manifold. This permits installation for any stock or modified intake manifold, using stock hardware and only one stock gasket, without shims. For straight 6-cylinder and 4-cylinder, one header included; for V6 or V8, two headers included (except where noted). All headers include adaptors or adaptor pipes to connect from collector to stock exhaust. Y-pipes available to work with long tube headers-Y-pipes eliminate catalytic converter and ties to stock exhaust tailpipe. Depending on application, headers not equipped with smog fittings. Check local emission laws before ordering.
Headers come in three configurations:
Short Tube-replaces stock manifold only
Mid Tube-replaces stock manifold and down tube
Long Tube-replaces stock manifold and down tube

"I work in a shop and tried to install these headers on my lunch hour, couldn't do it... Required at least another hour to finish so I could drive home. ended up with three exhaust leaks for a day. To be fair, I had to cut off 4 exhaust bolts on my convertor that were rusted and disintegrated... I changed my convertor on another day so I had to cut those bolts off. Added a lot of time. The header adapter had bent flanges which is why they didn't seal, I am sure that happened during shipping and not manufacturing. the three bolts were just too short to seal the connection so I used more washers and a tailpipe sealing putty to stop the leak.
If you have extra bolts on hand and a hammer, you will do fine with this set of headers. Ultimately, a very good set."
Pros: well built, definitely designed for my truck, adds power 10 - 20 %
Cons: my egr connection and the collector adaptor connections leaked, thin paper gaskets.

So many problems, where to begin?

"I bought this for my 92 ranger which had a cracked exhaust manifold. I wish so badly I would have just bought the OEM manifold. First of all the headers were too long I had to cut off my old exhaust. Not to big of a deal but then once we had it installed we noticed the EGR valve had the wrong threads / input on it. My OEM EGR would not hook up to the headers, there was no where for the O2 sensor to hook into, On top of all that one of the holes had to be drilled out because there was slag in it(cheap welding). The nut was so close to the tube you could not fit a socket around it and we never really could tighten it down that good.
Save your self ALOT of time and a little money and either find a different header or buy the OEM manifold."

Cons: EGR vavle not correct, to long, bolt hole problems

"Installed on 2005 Dodge Ram 4-door w/Hemi. I had to grind off about 1/2 on the pass side transmission to make right side fit, farthest forward bolt hole is about 1/4" off so couldnt install bolt. I orderd mid tube so i dont know about length b/c i installed fully custom system."
Pros: sound, looks, performance
Cons: not perfect fit

"Fits in engine compartment better than stock, looks better, sounds better. No dyno, so I don't know what it does for performance but I would assume it is much better than the sharply bent stock four-two-one setup. Excellent price point compared to other similar products.
Stickers on product warn that paint is for shipping only. High temp engine paint works nicely, just need to scrape or burn the other stuff off.
Only problem was the slight difference in reach under the firewall. It doesn't exactly line up with the stock exhaust, it is about 2" too short. If you are getting a different cat or exhaust system it should not be a problem.
Overall, very satisfied with this header."
Pros: Price, sound, appearance, fit.
Cons: Not long enough to reach stock exhaust (about 2")
