How often do you shop at JC Whitney.com? Multiple Times a Year
"I purchased this kit and installed it in my 2001 Silverado a year and a half ago. Total install time was about 3.5 hrs. for the kit, but I installed some extra insulation in the doors and also installed new speakers so it was, all in all, a full day.
Here's the reason I wrote "questionable quality" in the cons; I was impressed at first because everything installed nicely, and it felt and looked like a factory system. After about 6 months the passenger side switch started malfunctioning. I was really surprised by this because it rarely gets used. I let it go for awhile because sometimes it would work and others it didn't. I had to buy a new switch, and I installed it without any issues.
Now, at about a year and a half, the drivers side motor stopped working. It also worked intermittently at first, and then completely stopped all together. Luckily the motors from Electric Life are warranted for life against failure, so I'm in the process of getting a new motor. I've been working with EL directly as that's how JC Whitney handles long term warranty issues (directs you to the manufacture). I've worked in customer service, so I understand that JCW directs you to the manufacture for the warranty.
As noted above, I do recommend this window kit because I think I've got bad luck, and I do recommend JCW because they have parts and accessories that others don't, and their customer service reps do work very hard to satisfy the customer."

"It's a great kit as far as the install goes. You can do the install in about a half day if you really push it, but you'd better figure a day if you're like I am and you solder your conections, zip tie all your wiring real well, and cut in the switches to the armrest. As one of the other reviews commented about having trouble finding a "switched" power source, I dont think it's that big of a deal with a power window kit because it's not something that you could accidently leave on and run the battey down. I connected mine directly to a battery source (through the 25 amp fuse of coarse) so I can utilize the windows without the key on. I also took the opportunity to insulate the inside of the doors while the window regulator was out. Made a big difference when I close the door."
Pros: works and looks like factory windows
Cons: better part of a day to install

"Gave as a Christmas gift to Grandparents. Loved having power windows. It was very easy to instal. This product was well worth the money we paid. We would recomend this to anyone who has a hard time with crank windows."

Wrangler Electric Windows Are Great,

"This is a great adition to my 1998 Wrangler 4.0 liter. The quality is very good. The wndows move up and down very quickly and the switches look like they are factory. The wiring harness was perfect. Had troble determining where to tap the power from and making sure the windows worked only with the key in the On or Acc switch positions. A shop manual or some resiurce with wiring diabrams and circuitry is mandatory."
Pros: High quality and flawless fit.
Cons: Instructions are VERY skimpy and you must have a high intuitive index and a shop manual for electrical hookup.
