How often do you shop at JC Whitney.com? Once a Year
"I purchased this spreader thinking the gate was opened by the in cab controls...NO! You have to get out of your truck/suv each time you want to start or stop spreading salt. What is the purpose for the in cab controls then??? Also I tried using standard, dry, rock salt purchased from a trucking company and made sure to load it immediately before to be sure it stayed dry. It still managed to get jammed on the bottom of the hopper. You must use bagged salt (which is not cheap) to operate efficiently and I notice it works best when you fill it less than half way because the weight in a full hopper tends to jam up easier on bottom. Overall... you should buy this ONLY if you plan on adding a vibrator kit to attach to hopper for $100-$120."
