Great price, but skill needed to wire properly

"The instructions that come with this are a bit simplified. You'll need to know your way around some wiring. The website referenced in the instructions will help you figure out the wire color-coding scheme for your car.
You'll also need some wire splicing connectors to make this happen (not included in the box). One eyelet connector and a self-tapping sheet metal screw for the ground wire is probably a good idea too (also not included).
A voltage meter with some probes is a must. For instance, the yellow and red wire might be the colors for the "ignition on positive", but there might be two yellow and red wires near each other, and only one is the ignition activated one. You'll need to figure out the right one before splicing in.
Once installed, and programmed, it works great. Though, when you have your dash apart, and are dealing with the spaghetti of all those wires, you may for a moment wonder if you've made the right decision to do it yourself.
There's a crazy number of extra features that you can install (most require an extra relay to be purchased, but that's cheap). There's even a trunk release, an ignition killer, and anti-car-jacking mode you can program and hook up if desired."
Pros: Fantastic price. Works great once you get it installed correctly.
Cons: This is not "plug and play", you need to splice into your car's wiring harness.

"Installed on a 2009 Dodge ram ST that did not have Keyless. Had to do some research to find the correct resistor sizes for my model but after I figured that out installation was a breeze and the product works great."
Pros: Cheap cost

Does The Job

Limited Talent
"Installed on '07 Ford Taurus.
Researched the wiring colors and instructions ahead of time. For some one with limited knowledge of the vehicle or automotive wiring, this may present some challenge, but it is do-able. Worked first try.
After a few days it was discovered that occasionally the door lock or unlock function failed. Not both at once, just one or the other some times. Trunk unlock and ignition-prompted lock/unlock worked 100%.
Called ICD and they agreed to possiblility of flaky relay and agreed to warranty it if I returned original, which I did. New replacement arrive one week from date I mailed back the old one. Good service!
Installed the replacement, which was easy because the original wiring stayed connected and you only unplug it from the receiver and swap receivers. Only been two days, but so far seems to function well. We'll know with more certainty after a few weeks, but feel confident in the product. Seems to be quality components, key fobs, etc. Happy so far...

1995 Olds Cutlass Supreme

"1995 Olds Cutlass Supreme. Bought for remote entry only. Install was relatively easy but unit did not work at first. Here’s lots of detail for anyone interested: Pulled lock switch from driver’s door by prying up plastic piece holding switches. Used multimeter to check for constant power wire and lock/unlock wires. NOTE: IC Dynamics web site diagram lists black wire as unlock wire. Test showed white wire. Decided to install unit in driver’s side kick panel area. Removed lower plastic door jamb piece (2 screws) and pulled carpet back exposing wire harness going to driver’s door. Spliced into small orange wire (constant power) with red and white constant power wires. Spliced into small light blue wire (lock) with yellow wire. Spliced into small white wire (unlock) with green wire. NOTE: There were 2 small white wires in door harness. The one NOT used had constant power. Used red “quick splice” connectors. Grounded black wire to bolt above kick panel. Tested remote and nothing happened. Checked wire connections. White and red wires had constant power and green powered on unlock and yellow on lock. Checked ground and tested again but nothing happened. Thought maybe the remotes need to be programmed so followed instructions and plugged in LED light and push button. NOTE: Did NOT see part about powering purple wire so it was not done. Turned ignition on/off/on/off/on and pressed and held push button. LED light did not come on but I pushed lock on a remote and it worked. Pushed lock on other remote and it worked as well. Turned ignition off. Don’t know why they worked now but they did. Used medium zip tie around wires and put unit and wires in upper area behind kick panel. Linked 2 long zip ties together and used to secure unit and wires (there was a piece of framing in area to slip ties around) away from emergency brake. Put carpet, door jamb piece and door switch back. Tested remotes at about 100 feet and both worked fine."
Pros: Easy Install. Fair Price.
Cons: Instructions may be hard for novice. Unit did not work at first.
