JUNK
December 14, 2011
By Harleyvetteman

Pros: None, worst product I have ever seen. X 2
Cons: Instructions are flawed and product does not work.
"The first kit I purchased worked fine the first time I used it, then the second time I used it the running lights would not function and only one brake light would come on. Sent in for warranty, got a replacement. The second kit, running lights worked fine but no brake lights or turn signals. Trailer works fine on other vehicles. Vehicle lights in question work fine. THIS T CONNECTOR IS JUNK."

Pros: The FJ panel clips work well and unhook without breaking
Cons: Difficult install on the FJ. The plug is left coiled on floor in rear to be run through weather stripping as needed
"A T kit implies simplicity of installation. On the FJ it is not a simple job. You need to remove the sub-woofer if installed. the rear scuff panel. unfasten and pull back the trim panels on both sides. remove the floor tie downs, floor mat with panel clips; and in my case the bag hooks on the side wall - which is not mentioned in the directions. The directions for removing the sub-woofer grill could be more helpful with an illustration and step 7 of the instructions say repeat step 7 when I think they mean 6.The direction to remove the floor hooks say use a Philips head, mine are 10 mm hex w/o a Philips slot. As noted in other comments you still have to run a battery wire for the use of the converter box, also usually not expected with a T kit. When you are done you feel like you have taken half the vehicle apart. It is taking longer to install the T kit than it took to install the hitch. The direction do note it is helpful to have a panel clip removal tool.
I rated this product as a 3 because the plug is not externally mounted, the directions could be better and because it is a difficult install on this particular vehicle."

Pros: no problem with the turn signal connectors.
Cons: manufacturer wants you to run a wire to the battery which is not necessary and this unit failed on second use.
"turn signal wires connected no problem. But the manufacturer suggest you run a power wire all the way to the battery. My vehicle (2006 toyota highlander) has a towing package power wire prerun in the factory vehicle harness. This info should be included in the installation instructions with detail on where and which wire to connect for main power. Running a seperate wire is time consuming, unecessary, and if not done correctly, dangerous. Now for the bad part, product failed after second use."

Pros: Easy!
Cons: None
"Instructions that came with it were illustrated and specific to my vehicle. Installation was a breeze. I popped in the fuse, plugged the harness into my trailer, and everything worked perfectly. Nice and easy!"
