  • Easily replace your rusted, dented or cracked tailgate and save!
Die-formed steel with all correct cutouts and mounting holes. Primer-painted to fight rust. Some normal surface prep required before painting. Bolt-on installation using original hardware, handle and lock mechanism. Where applicable, existing windows, glass and regulators must also be used. Vehicle name not stamped onto surface. Fits vehicles with wheel wells in bed only-;does not fit Stepside, Fenderside, Flareside and Sweptside pickups (except where noted).

"I bought a 1994 Ford F-150 with 53,000 miles on it at auction for $1800 and the tailgate was a mess and the paint was oxidized. I bought this tailgate, installed it and then had the entire truck painted for $1200. Then I placed a new oval Ford ornament in the center of the tailgate, added diamond plated rail cap and rubber mat to inside of tailgate (to match the diamond plate rail caps and rubber bed liner for the rest of the truck), added aluminum double step rails, and chrome fender guards, and then replaced the headliner. I get raves about my truck where ever I go now. Since this photo was taken, I have also painted the bumpers a flat black and added a new sound system and speakers. No car payments!!"

Pros: It fit well, and looks good after it's painted.
Cons: cheaply made, does not hold up to regular working weights.
"With just a little filing, the t/g fitted up to my '86 F150 nice. That's as far as it went. The t/g latch that I ordered with it,(supposedly made for it) did not operate the latchrods correctly. The rods would disengage the latch before opening completely, resulting in NOT releasing the t/g from the bed. I resorted to having to use a pair of channel lock pliers to open the t/g.
If all you want is a replacment t/g to use in order to sell your truck, or if you're never going to use it to load or unload anything, this is the t/g for you. However, the 1st time I used it, the rivots snapped and the inner/outer panels seperated, causing the t/g to buckle and warp. (I loaded a refridgerator, something any t/g should be able to handle)
So, unless you just want a nice, pretty, new t/g so you can sell your truck, I wouldn't waste my time or money on this one."

Tough fit,

Pros: low price, fast shipping
Cons: lightweight metal, some fit problems
"The tailgate fit in the generic sense. After an hour and a half of filing, shiming and enlarging holes it was on the truck. Be careful closing the tailgate or you will bend it. The new tailgate looks a lot better than the old rusty one."

"A tree fell on my 2001 Sierra. Whitney got this part out quick and in good shape. It fit like the original gate. My truck is straight again! Thanks."
