TRAVEL TRUNK WITH BACKREST AND SPOILER
  • Adds extra storage space to your bike (it's big enough to hold a full-face helmet)
  • Strong yet lightweight plastic trunk is designed with molded-in lines on 2 sides, rear and top for a sleek look
  • High-gloss black painted finish
Shiny black complements a black bike or adds contrast to different color bike. Lid opens at rear (inner hinges are located at front). Lid is lockable (2 keys included) and includes overlapping rain lip (lip plus inner seal on lower section of trunk help keep stored gear clean, dry). Approximately 9"W x 3-3/4"H firm, black, rubber-like backrest is built into the lid. Wraparound lid spoiler looks great and contributes to aerodynamic efficiency. Trunk has approx. 13" x 10" bottom and mounts on any flat luggage rack-metal reinforcing plate, protective inner foam bottom liner, mounting straps and hardware are included. Trunk bottom, plate and straps are pre-drilled for trouble-free installation. Approximately 15"W at middle x 12-3/4"H x 16-1/2"L overall.
Color Finish:Black Dimensions:16.5 in. L x 15 in. W x 12.75 in. H

"This is a small, inexpensive tailbox that can hold a helmet.
It's overall construction is, in a word, flimsy.
The plastic is thin, and the metal parts are lightweight.
It could be easily jimmied open.
The lid does not open a full 90 degrees, but you can still get stuff into it.
I had no trouble mounting it since my KZ-1000 Police bike has a radio tray behind the solo seat.
However, it is smaller than the radio tray, and it looks undersize for the bike.
My unit arrived with all parts present, but it has serious drips and runs in the otherwise shiny black paint job.
I would return it if I were not planning to repaint it anyway.
The "Backrest" is not padded, but is made of hard rubber.
Every bump in the road gives you a nasty blow to the spine.
I would recommend it only for smaller bikes, and where security is not a problem.
Since Quality Control is highly variable on this product, you should save the packing materials until after you install it.

"Trunk was ordered for my wife's 2006 Vespa 150XL. Trunk arrived within a week but was missing the keys to the lock. Customer service arranged to have the trunk returned and a replacement was immediately sent. Installation was easy and my wife likes the way it looks."

"The
package arrived without problems. I mounted it on a 2001 Kawasaki
Vulcan Classic 1500. The lid of the trunk has a scratch on the top that
I covered with a sticker. The lid does not open a full 90 degrees,
making it a little difficult to put a full-face helmet in it. There
were no mounting instructions included so it took a little while to
figure it out. The rear of the lid has a removable panel, where a light
bar might pop in, that's not sealed and I'd concerned about weather
tightness. The gloss black finish does match my black saddle bags and
the trunk does look ok when it's mounted. I added some reflector tape
to the back to increase visibility. I guess I can't complain too much.
I could have gone elsewhere and spent a lot more money.

Travel Trunk With back rest
July 4, 2006

"I attached the trunk to the rack on my 2003 Yamaha 1100 Classic, I now have a Voyager trike kit on my Cycle to stabilize my ride.
Found the products (# ZX26600R) paint, attaching brackets, backrest and looks to be Excellent. I only gave the Trunk a four star due to the lock holding pin is weak and does not hold lock tight to the tops opening. Tighten this twice and is sloppy (AGAIN) holding the lock ! Also the two bolts holding the lide on came/come loose, and must be tighten evey so often. The two nuts/bolts holding the bottom part of the locking device, on the back of the trunk, came out and was lost, and had to be replaced. I will now check these items more often.
