"The ease in shopping at JC Whitney, the email notifications on the progress of my order along with the quick shipping makes it a pleasure shopping at JC Whitey. Although...
I purchased the windshield tie down kit in the "black powder coated" style for my 1989 Jeep Wrangler. First off its powder coated" its rubber coated. I have seen items described "powder coated" before and these items are not what I was expecting. To me it appeared as if a rubber tube (the kind that comes with an aquarium air filter but in black) had been pushed onto the metal. Second the rubber or "powder coating" had a bubble or bump on the top of one of the tie downs ruining the clean lines of the tie down.
If not for the bubble and my mistake on what "powder coating" would be, the item would be acceptable. Although, I wonder since no where in the description does it say anything about how well the "powder coating" holds up to weather just how long it would retain its shiny new look. I am guessing not too long. In the future I personally would just stick with the stainless or find different type of tie down with more finish options."
