 Shop Convertible Top

Your ride's convertible top displays a perfect blend of excellent engineering and sophisticated look. But without proper care, it won't stay that way for long. So if you want your convertible ride to remain looking gorgeous even with its top up, you have to clean and protect its soft top regularly. Here are steps on how you can properly pull the task off:

Convertible top cleaning instructions

What you'll need:

  • Soft brush
  • Cleaner

Step 1: Remove loose dirt and grit from the top.

With the top on, park your ride in a shaded area where there's enough room for you to carry out your DIY task comfortably. Get rid of loose dirt on the convertible top's surface by washing it with water. Do not use detergents or soap.

Step 2: Spray convertible top cleaner.

Apply cleaner over the top and allow it to soak for at least five minutes. With a soft, clean brush, lightly scrub the top to remove dirt buildup and stains. For heavily soiled areas, apply more cleaner and allow it to penetrate into the stains for 15 to 20 minutes. Then, lightly scrub the area again with the brush.

Step 3: Rinse the top.

With clean water, rid the top of cleaner and allow it to dry completely before spraying protectant.

Protecting fabric convertible tops

What you'll need:

  • Clean cloth
  • Can of protective fabric spray

Step 1: Apply first coat of protective spray.

Prepare the can of protective fabric spray by shaking it thoroughly before use. In a light sweeping motion, spray an even coat of protectant over the entire roof. Let the first coat cure for at least 10 minutes.

Step 2: Apply additional three coats of spray.

Check if the first coat has dried out by touching an unnoticeable part of the convertible top with your fingertip. If you're sure that the first coat is now dry, spray the next three coats, leaving 10 minutes curing time after each coat.

Step 3: Wipe off excess spray from nearby areas.

With a clean cloth, wipe away excess fabric spray from surrounding area. It is wise to apply protective spray on your convertible top every six weeks to keep it well protected against the sun's harsh UV rays and other natural elements.

Protecting vinyl convertible tops

What you'll need:

  • Clean microfiber cloth
  • Bottle of protective vinyl spray

Step 1: Apply a full coat of protective spray on the roof.

Shake the bottle of protective vinyl spray thoroughly and apply first coat to the convertible top using a clean microfiber coat. Spread the fluid well onto the entire roof, making sure the fluid penetrates into the textured areas by firmly pressing the cloth down. Allow it to cure for at least 10 minutes.

Step 2: Apply another coat of protectant.

To ensure deeper level of protection, apply another coat of protectant, making sure the fluid is evenly spread out into the entire top.

Step 3: Clean the surrounding areas.

Using clean dry cloth, wipe away excess protective vinyl spray that have gotten into the convertible top's surrounding areas. For maximum protection against damaging elements, apply protective spray into the top every five weeks.
