" I am disappointed in the performance of the Rancho RS5000 shock absorbers. I had them installed on my truck on June 8th.
On my current road trip, so far, we have driven over 1200 miles and I plan on driving at least another 2000 miles before getting back home. I am not pulling a trailer or anything like that.
The shocks are performing like they are worn out....examples are;
1. going over a slight dip/dips in the road and the front end of the truck bounces up and down 3-4 times before it finally stops. The rear will do it too just not as bad as the front. This has occurred on both highway and residential roads (Paved roads)
2. the shocks have "bottomed out" on a few occasions. both front and rear. ( i didn't run over any pot holes)
3. when going over a rough surface (imperfect) the shocks are not dampening like they should. especially when going around a corner. It's like the tires are bouncing up and down instead of staying on the road surface.
I have driven vehicles that have had high performance shocks installed on them and what i am experiencing is not a high performance shock..nor are they stiff shocks... "

" I replaced my OEM shocks on my 04 Dakota with these and so far the on road ride has improved dramatically. I do not do any hard off road, only hunting and fishing; so far it has been a very good shock on washouts and rocky roads. The price could not be beat, and JCW has great service. Highly recommend. "

" I put a set of Rancho shocks on my 41 year old CJ 5 and it made a heck of a difference in the whole suspension. I'm very glad I bought these and I'm thinking about getting the 2.5 leaf springs made by Rancho now. Good product! "

" These shocks seem to work well after about a month on the Jeep TJ. The ride has improved greatly. They installed easily enough on the front and rear, so why not a full five star rating? The boots that came with the shocks. The rear shocks were the problem. On the rear Jeep TJ shocks the top of the shocks has a T-shaped bracket to bolt them on. I was unable to get the boots on the shocks due to this, and it seems you can't put them on from the bottom either. So the boots were useless on the rear shocks anyway. The front shocks were no problem to install the boots. "
