High impact acrylic merges the clarity of acrylic with an impressive impact resistance. A standardized plastic test (IZOD TEST) compared standard acrylic to high impact acrylic: standard acrylic breaks at 1.5 foot pounds, while high impact acrylic can withstand up to 8 foot pounds. Unique for its one-piece design and generous screen size, these windshields are constructed of 3/16 in. (4.5mm) scratch-resistant acrylic that provides impressive impact resistance.

"Looks great on my 98 Aero 1100. I was surprised by how easy it was to install. Just a few bolts and it was on in less than a half hour. Solid purchase."

Pros: Clarity, adjustability, dealer product looks
Cons: mounting hardware is very cumbersome; forget a temp removal for a ride w/o windshield attached - way too time consuming.
"Too bad the Dakota 4.5 doesn't offer tints. Otherwise the windshield is very nice. The mounting hardware is terrible, though windshield height is adjustable. Removal of the windshield for a ride w/o the shield is way too complicated and time consuming. It's almost a two-man job. So if you get this, expect to leave the windshield on, permanantly."

"The shield that I ordered, was for a 2004 motercycle. I have a 2006. the cataloge does not cover past 2004. The shield fits good and looks good. The only problem is the distortion in the vision through the shield."
