Established in 1963, PIAA is among the leading manufacturers of automotive lights, horns, and other replacement parts for cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, ATVs, and UTVs. The company boasts of combining market-driven concepts with the latest technology to produce parts that not only last longer but also perform better than the rest of the competition.
PIAA is an especially popular brand among the racing industry, with winning vehicles in motorsports events such as the Baja 1000, 24 Hours of Daytona and Le Mans, Dakar Rally, Moto GP, and Formula 1 using parts with the PIAA brand. And a huge chunk of this popularity is attributed by PIAA to its commitment to quality, solid design, and the use of only the best materials available.
Innovative lighting technology
PIAA gained much of its reputation through its line of high-end accessory lights, which provide effective illumination no matter the road conditions. Today, PIAA offers both LED and halogen lamp variants, with each one integrated with the latest innovations in the automotive lighting industry. PIAA LED lights are incorporated with advanced reflective facing technology (RFT), which is centered on a computer-designed, multi-surface reflector that concentrates and focuses the beam pattern from the LEDs to result in a more focused beam compared to conventional forward-facing LED lamps. PIAA\'s halogen lamps, on the other hand, features the Xtra technology that produces more light with stock power draw compared to OE-grade halogen lamps. These lamps also incorporate a crack-resistant plastic or cast aluminium housings and polycarbonate resin lenses of various thicknesses depending on the application.
Cutting-edge car horns
In addition to LED and halogen lights, PIAA is also well known in the market for its line of car horns. These horns are designed to provide a clear, crisp noise at the 155 decibel range, making it loud enough to reach a considerable distance but not too loud to cause damage to the eardrums. Certain units are also set to emit a deep bass tone for a more mature sound. All of the horns have a compact metal and plastic construction and can be fitted on most autos without the need for extensive modification.
Highly durable silicone rubber wipers
PIAA has also made a name for itself through its line of heavy duty windshield wipers. Unlike other wipers sold by its competitors, PIAA\'s windshield wiper blades are made with synthetic silicone rubber. Whenever the blade travels across the windshield, it leaves a layer of silicone on the windshield surface that helps increase water beading to greatly improve visibility during rainy conditions. The water will simply build up into droplets when driving at low speeds and are wiped easily off the surface. At higher speeds, the force of the wind against the windshield will be enough to push the water off of the windshield without having to use the wipers. Also, unlike windshield coatings, this layer of rubber does not leave a haze on the windshield.
In addition to leaving a water-resistant layer on the windshield, silicone rubber last nearly twice as long as standard rubber, making them perform better and cheaper in the long run. Certain PIAA wiper blade models are also refillable, doing away from the standard installation process and making it easier to maintain a sharp, clean edge on the wiper blades.
